You can tell Dudley isn't aware how much he deeply desires being near Julia's soul goodness purity so he asks her to make a wish on a star just so he can legit take her 'wish'/prayers as his duty vs help her husband the Bishop. I'ma huge Cary Grant fan and his way of being charming mysterious focused cheeky was hilarious and heartwarming.
